The Technology Development team is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to enhance our capabilities to track and improve the quality for new and exciting technologies. We’re seeking an excellent communicator and problem solver who can help evaluate and uphold our software testing processes to ensure the highest quality and best practices. Key Qualifications

  • In this role, the Senior Automation QA Engineer will design and maintain automation frameworks used in the testing of computer vision algorithms. This involves close collaboration in a cross-functional team of Software Development & QA engineers, architects, project managers and other Apple automation teams. Responsibilities include defining and implementing the automation framework, monitoring CI performance & test results analysis, maintaining databases for test cases and test results, use case validation, evaluating and reporting current quality of existing technologies and new features, developing and maintaining test tools
  • Experience with developing, running, and triaging automated test suites.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, test methodologies, and a passion for quality processes.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and creative with problem solving.
  • Experience in implementing initiatives across teams.
  • Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems and independently work towards results.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and cross functionally, as part of a larger team.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in building and maintaining test framework in scripting languages (e.g. Python)


Define/design/develop/maintain test automation frameworks. Analysis of test results and creation of clear and actionable bug reports. Work in an automated testing pipeline (integration + system + functional + use case validation) driven by a Continuous Integration framework. Work with Continuous Integration tools (e.g. ATP, Jenkins) Working cross-functionally with numerous teams from a variety of disciples across Apple, including hardware/software development, developer tools, design, QA and project management.

Education & Experience

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
