The Country Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Austrian organisation operates as one single collaborative team across all routes to market and functions. This collaboration should craft the foundation for the Austrian business to build and strengthen the Apple team with the clear goal of significantly growing the business. This requires strong sales leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate sales teams across all levels. The focus will be to formulate the growth objectives and strategies for success for the consumer and commercial business within Austria ensuring that the team delivers against these objectives and that all of these objectives come together as part of an overall country plan including integration and alignment with the Direct Apple Channels within the Austrian market. The role requires thinking beyond today, a deep understanding of what it means to be the custodian of a brand, a real passion for being a market leader and to be evangelical about delivering a superlative experience to customers, across market segments, whilst always thinking about what is next.

Key Qualifications

  • Successful leader with multi-channel management experience, including channel development skills at the scale Apple needs.
  • You should be able to create and communicate a vision of where Apple can grow and expand its revenue and market shares across all channels and customer segments (Consumer, Enterprise and Education)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • You'll have the intellectual capability to analyse new opportunities in the market.
  • Proven effective relationship builder within a matrix environment at regional, local and WW levels.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, you should be a strong leader who has the ability to motivate a substantial team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes enabling effective partnerships across Apple (WW Training, Product Marketing, Sales Leaders etc.).
  • Solid understanding of fundamental Austrian law implications in key areas such as labor, competition or copy right as well as regulatory principles in Austria.
  • Fluent German and English are essential


You will lead the Austria organisation as the lead for the overall Austrian country plan. You will be directly managing and developing the Retail, Telco and Education businesses within Austria and closely collaborate and integrate with the local SP&O and CCC Hub functions. You'll be a part of the DACH Region management team and engage on ad hoc projects to support the regional business and be involved in the following: Provide inspiration to the teams and present a vision of where the country needs to develop to maximise the opportunity for Apple. Recruits and develops the high calibre and diverse talent needed to provide for Apple’s future success. Development of appropriate go to market strategies to drive the consumer and education sales objectives for the country and owning key relationships with partners in the country. Review the organisational models within the country ensuring we are best set up to maximise the growth opportunities in Austria. Oversee the Austrian country plan to ensure that all routes to market are integrated into a single vision of growth for Austria. Single point of coordination for collaboration across all functions of Apple to align resources to support the growth strategies, and acts as the face of Apple when required. Drive the Commercial business including Enterprise /B2B and Education business in Austria in partnership with with the local Commercial manager and team. Help drive the “one Apple” approach building relationships across the key components of Apple for successful collaboration. Take the leadership role where there are other functions in country. Own the country forecast across all products and routes to market. Ownership of the goals and objectives for the country across all Lines of business and the development of Apple’s business in the country owning the tactical execution. Drive the right activities to ensure that channel partners achieve the sales objectives. ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES: Propose channel strategies and ensure execution to drive growth across all lines of business in Austria targeting the consumer markets. Ensure that the quality of programs are executed within Apple standards and guidelines. Develop the local channel organisation and the people within it, to deliver a world-class channel management function in Austria. Handle all internal processes, including budgeting, forecasting, business reviews to the timelines defined by the WW and EMEIA functions. Ensure best collaboration and communication across all functions in the country. Build relationships with key resellers, customers, retailers and carriers where appropriate. Support the ongoing development of Apple’s key channel programs. Coach and develop the teams beneath them to create a strong bench for succession planning and personal career development for their teams. Identify new opportunities for growth in Austria and regional organisation and proposed strategies to maximise these opportunities. Leadership, ongoing development and attraction of top talent with in-depth functional expertise. Work with central European and WW teams to develop relationships and collaboration that supports the growth within their regions. Ensure the teams achieve and exceed their goals through setting up standard methodology and aligning with corporate objectives. Liaise with Operations in Cork on all logistics questions for the territory.

Education & Experience

You will have an MBA from a leading business school and/or a primary business degree from a top-tier university
