Wireless Technologies team is looking for a cellular systems analytics engineer with a passion for statistical analysis with the ultimate goal of improving the wireless experience for Apple customers. You will work on defining performance metrics, designing analytical data views for wireless software features, analyzing/mining data for future enhancements and communicating product performance. Your role is to turn data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

Key Qualifications

  • You will need experience in a systems/performance engineering role within cellular technology domain with focus on data analytics, root cause analysis and identifying optimization opportunities
  • Deep knowledge of wireless systems, architecture & protocols (5G NR & LTE & IMS)
  • Understanding of and passion for statistical data analysis
  • Deep understanding of cellular protocol stack and 3GPP standards
  • Experience with data mining/visualization to interpret Cellular KPIs, network configurations and modem functionality
  • Fluent in Java/Scala and Python packages for data analysis
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience in software design/development is a plus

Description

Meet with stakeholders of cellular technologies team to define the requirements for data collection from Apple products to achieve data driven decision-making. Generate and interpret reports & dashboards by aggregating & correlating metrics collected from various layers of the modem protocol stack and firmware. Assess pre and post launch performance of iOS releases for Cellular Technology features. Present/summarize the analytics findings and propose improvements to product development, QA and vendor/partner management teams after interpreting the Wireless Technology related critical metric.

Education & Experience

Master/PHD in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications or equivalent
