Key Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of 3GPP 5GNR/LTE protocol stacks (AS L1/L2/L3, NAS)
  • Understanding of IP telephony network, SIP, IMS, and standards like VoLTE
  • Knowledgeable in embedded systems and software, particularly mobile chipsets or base stations.
  • Practical experience programming protocol testers, in particular Keysight and Anritsu
  • Fluency in Python programming, in particular in automation environments.
  • Experience with end-to-end data applications / IP measurements
  • Enjoy working in a team with good interpersonal skills
  • Passionate and inquisitive about approaching everyday problems in innovative ways
  • Laser-focused on the smallest details that are significant to our customers


The Wireless Technologies and Eco-Systems (WTE) team is looking for candidates with a passion for cellular technologies and the focus necessary to ensure the highest level of quality. Through diagnostics, analytics and experiments you’ll find opportunities for improvement of modems. This will include developing test automation scripts and debugging capabilities to improve quality and better understand results. Based in Munich, we work hand in hand with teams across Apple worldwide. This means evening meetings with teams outside Germany and limited international travel may be required in the future. Responsibilities will include: - Plan and lead verification campaigns of modem features using system simulators - Analyse cellular traces to identify system defects in close cooperation with software development teams - Report bugs and closely follow up till resolution - Locate faulty component by conducting extended ad hoc experiment and log analysis - Track progress of work based on critical milestones. - Review of test coverage and alignment with collaborators. - Proposal of improvements based on end to end experience - Represent function and technical solution in management meetings, e.g., engineering review. Education & Experience

Master/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications or equivalent
