Key Qualifications

  • Good written and oral communication skills, fluent in English.
  • BS in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering and manufacturing working experience. Experience in consumer electronics industry is a plus.
  • Experienced and demonstrated ability to build, lead and manage an engineering/technical team.
  • Ability to communicate/promote concepts/concerns to large team and influence on decision making.
  • A team player who is self-motivated, results oriented and detailed oriented.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and travel frequently (mainly within China).
  • Good experience of on-site build support and work from OEM factories.


Apple Brittle Material Manufacturing Design Engineers (Brittle MDEs) provide end to end manufacturing process solutions for all Brittle Material components on Apple product. The manufacturing process development covers all aspects from equipments, consumables, process parameters, setups, to full qualification. In addition, Brittles MDEs are also responsible for automation development, factory management, and strategic R&D in the Brittle space. Using comprehensive data analysis, first principle knowledge, and engineering experience, Brittle MDEs are responsible to drive major process decision (including all aspects indicated above), as well as continuous yield improvements. As a Brittle MDE Manager, you will manage a group of Brittle MDEs in a major site with multiple Apple programs from development phase to mass production. You are responsible to lead your team to deliver a best-in-class process that meets Apple product designs, industrial design requirements with high manufacturing yield and efficiency. In development phase, you will manage process development/selections which meets Apple quality and manufacturing criteria, and drive implementation in our contract manufacturing site to support engineering builds. In mass production, you will manage continuous improvement from both process and operation aspect to achieve high yield and manufacturing efficiency Be deeply involve in the process development and factory implementation details for the entire development till ramp cycle. You need to be technical oriented and hands-on to drive technical solution forward. Know your process and factory and be accountable of the decision made by you and your team. Utilize your engineering experience and knowledge to provide guidance to your team on technical solutions, statistical data analysis, and establishing a technical strategy. Build and use effective engineering framework to guide your team to drive effective technical path to close. Develop your site (contract manufacturer) from all technical, operational and management perspective. Provide leadership, cross functionally to enable a successful ramp of your site. Work collaboratively with Global Supply Managers to ensure process decision is aligned with supply and commercial team Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Design Quality team to drive yield improvements and solve quality issue (both in house and cross supply chain) Develop, coach and bring up your team member’s capability, and promote your team’s growth and meanwhile shape the team culture Bridge and manage communication between US and China. Empower you and your team to influence major decision across all functions and regions.

Education & Experience

BS in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering.
