Apple SPG is looking for a radar signal processing engineer to join our Sensors team, which is developing technology for use in autonomous systems.

Key Qualifications

  • Have MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related
  • Radar signal processing background, including spectral processing and peak detection (CFAR) techniques, point cloud filtering and compression, object detection
  • Experience developing and evaluating machine learning stacks which use radar signals (either independently or jointly with other sensors)
  • Have facility with Python, MATLAB
  • Ability to manage, manipulate, process, and analyze large data sets


Propose, define, develop, validate, and document radar data interfaces, including interfacing with adjacent groups consuming data Develop methodologies for verifying and validating radar specifications Identification, feasibility evaluation, and development of novel radar capabilities Define and oversee experimental collections to validate data quality Process, analyze, and review test data, compare with models and requirements Conduct post-test analysis of Radar data, draw conclusions, plan next steps Effectively communicate Radar analyses, conclusions, and recommendations at pre- and post-test reviews to management

Education & Experience

MS/PhD plus 5 years experience

Additional Requirements

  • Signal processing: waveform design, object tracking, SLAM, or other appropriate data algorithms, interference detection and mitigation
  • Experience with developing signal processing algorithms for optical sensors
  • Strong track record of developing novel signal processing algorithms, including prototyping, KPI identification and validation
