The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the development of key technology for Apple products.
We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated metrology engineer to work on advanced optical technology development together.

Key Qualifications
- Experience with measurements using 3D measurement machine(3D-CMM) or similar equipment.
- Experience in creating measurement programs and familiarity with mechanical design principles.
- Proficiency in one or more scientific computing languages such as Matlab, Python, C/C++/C#, etc. and experience in analyzing point data using such methods.
- Familiarity with various measurement methods of mechanical and optics and ability to propose appropriate methods and procedures.
- We are seeking a person with logical thinking, self-driven and willing to take on a challenge.
Description
You will work on the development of the precision metrology mainly using 3D measurement machines.
Metrology is a core technology for high accuracy products, therefore metrology engineer needs to seek the best way of machine and method and should be familiar with the mold structure and analysis, based on knowledge of mechanical engineering, measurement methods and instrumentation engineering.
We especially handle novelty items and design things that we have never experienced before. Metrology engineer will think deeply about requirements and read intent of designers from drawings to create measuring programs with considering data analysis efficiently.
Education & Experience
B.S./M.S. in Science, Technology, Engineering or equivalent field
Additional Requirements
- Experience of measuring molded resin parts
- Experience with measuring optical parts and molds
- Familiarity with optical parts, optical design, machining and mold fabrication
- Design measurement jig using 3D-CAD
- Japanese: Daily conversation and reading
