Wired Power Manager - Energy Technologies
Do you have a desire to lead and a passion for enabling power technologies that are fundamental to lighting up our products and equip them to deliver fantastic user experiences? The Core OS Energy Technologies group is looking for a dedicated and experienced technical software engineering manager to lead the team designing and implementing wired power input and output across a majority of our product portfolio. Our systems have increasingly demanding power requirements, including supplying advanced system features & capabilities, enabling fast charging, providing power to external peripherals and more! In this unique and highly visible role, working with other software and system teams, you will lead your team to define, develop and seek to enable powering our products and allowing them to interoperate in a broad ecosystem; aiming to invent a roadmap of scalable solutions across various product families and power interfaces.
Lead and grow a team of experienced wired power software engineers, working cross-functionally with system architects, electrical engineers, system software engineers, and many other functional software engineering teams. Manage several challenging projects, while handling conflicting priorities, empowering individuals on the team to achieve their life's best work. Set expectations with software, silicon and hardware stakeholders while navigating through conflicting points of view. Track project status and deliverables, and create/refine internal team processes to improve workflows. Balance high quality product delivery under extremely tight schedules while fostering long term innovation. Act as technical leader when design directions are ambiguous. Strengthen the team by hiring, retaining and growing top engineering talent.
- Experience managing a systems software, low level driver or firmware development team
- Genuine passion for system engineering, hardware/software integration, and obsession over delightful customer experience with products
- Consistent track record of successful and timely software product delivery with complex dependencies
- Highly professional and collaborative with outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Strong embedded software engineering skills
- History of motivating teams to innovate and meet ambitious goals
- Experience with HW-SW interfaces and communication protocols like I2C, SPI, SPMI, etc.
- Familiarity with power management software or consumer electronics charging technologies like USB Power Delivery or BC 1.2
- Experience resolving complex system-level issues, at the hardware and software boundary, by working in highly collaborative settings across engineering domains
