A Senior Prototyping Engineer in the Camera Incubation team works closely with creative, technical, and design-oriented disciplines to create and develop new user experiences taking full advantage of Apple’s hardware and software ecosystem. The Camera Incubation team is seeking a technical leader with deep expertise in UX engineering who will envision experiences enabled by state-of-the-art Computer Vision technologies to turn knowledge of the world seen and sensed through Apple’s future cameras into compelling user experiences. You will be leading ideation, concept prototyping, product intercepts, and communication with stake holders.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of demonstrated ability in User Experience prototyping.
  • You can articulate ideas and concepts through presentations, mock-ups, and hands-on demonstration of functional prototypes.
  • You have the ability to identify key ideas that are based on user interactions insights.
  • You are curious about new technologies and are eager to test them in prototypes.
  • You have defined the product vision and customer experience for a product that utilized cameras to sense information.
  • You have shown success in strategic and design thinking, and validated expertise in computer vision applications, system design, information architecture, usability, user interactions, and user testing.
  • You possess strong oral, written and interpersonal skills to articulately express the rationale behind design and technology decisions.
  • You can present and articulate a vision in thoughtful way use your interdisciplinary communication skills to connect with designers, product teams, and execs.
  • You are focused, inspire others and work well within a collaborative team.
  • You can iterate quickly through prototyping phases seeking and incorporating feedback from others.

  • Good programming skills. Preferred languages: Objective C, C/C++, Swift, Python.

Description

You inspire a multi-disciplinary team through facilitation of ideation and collaboration, agile prototyping, seeking out user feedback, and providing clear directions.You must be curious, comfortable with ambiguity, energized by collaboration, and enjoy the variety afforded by repeatedly tackling new challenges.

Education & Experience

Education & Experience: M.S./Ph.D. with multi-disciplinary background in Computer Science, Engineering, HCI, or related field preferred.
