The Manufacturing Systems & Infrastructure (MSI) team is looking for an expert Site Reliability Engineer to help monitor our high-performance low latency applications. It is an opportunity to work on running applications and services that support Apple’s Manufacturing for uninterrupted mass production which are essential to the success of upcoming product launches. We are looking for a hardworking individual who can excel in a dynamic environment, who can be a self starter and bring their passion to ensure quality and reliability of the solutions we maintain.
Key Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a large scale Unix / Linux environment Experience with DevOps tools, processes, and culture
- Proficiency to program in Python, Ruby or Go
- Infrastructure knowledge of Networks, load balancers, Firewalls and WAF
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk and Graphite
- Experience with configuration management systems like: Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Salt
- Experience with Kubernetes, Envoy, Prometheus, and/or Docker is helpful
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Description
Provide support for application and network latency issues, as well as various operational tasks such as management and deployment of the application - Monitor infrastructure and application services and drive incident management - Review hardware, software infrastructure and application functionality for optimization - Identify performance bottlenecks and work closely with the application and network teams to drive resolution - Self starter with a curiosity about debugging complex issues - Resolve future needs for capacity and investigate new products and/or features - Build and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation reflecting configuration - Occasional travels required to provide on-site support and perform deployment tasks
Education & Experience
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Human Machine Interface Design, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience.
