We are looking for engineers with an Radio Frequency (RF) background to join the growing Instrument Engineering team at Apple. This small team of world-class engineers designs and produces precision radio frequency and analog test equipment for use in calibrating and testing Cellular, WiFi/BT, NFC and other technologies in millions of iPhones, iPads, Macs and Watches. We need your expertise to collectively take internal Apple products from concept to mass production. Each internal product is designed to Apple's exacting standards resulting in beautiful test equipment that maintains the quality, accuracy and function of commercially available offerings. You will already have an impressive track record of success and innovation in at least one of the following disciplines: RF & Baseband Hardware; Signal Processing; Software and System Design. You will play a crucial role that enables the team to develop and optimize precision test equipment used by RF automation systems to test Apple’s newest products for different wireless technologies. You will contribute to a multi-facetted software suite based on C++. You will work with analog signals in RF and baseband and with digitized samples to provide fast, accurate and repeatable measurements, identify and minimize error terms under all operating conditions and account for unit to unit variation. Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge of operation and automation of RF lab equipment including: power sensors, spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, switch controllers, wideband radio communication testers, vector network analyzers.
  • Proven track record analyzing and minimizing the uncertainty of individual RF measurement system components and concatenated RF system blocks in a debug environment.
  • Ability to identify and implement fast methods of parameter measurement without violating agreed measurement quality
  • You'll be well versed with signal parameters such as phase noise, SINAD, noise figure, spectral content, harmonics.
  • We are looking for an individual who can undertake international travel and willing to interact closely with offshore engineering development and manufacturing partners.
  • Energy and drive to thrive in a start-up like environment.
  • [Hardware] Extensive experience with RF component and circuit integration into products.
  • [Hardware] Knowledge of design using RF and analog discrete components used to generate and analyze RF signals.
  • [Hardware] Experience of designing and being responsible for high speed digital boards.
  • [Software] Excellent fundamentals and hands-on experience programming in one or more of C, C++, C#, Objective-C.
  • [Software] Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts & scalable software design.
  • [FPGA] Extremely well versed in all aspects of RTL coding, design and deployment.

Education & Experience

MS in EE required or related experience, PhD in EE preferred
