Key Qualifications

The Xcode team is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join a hands-on, cross-functional team to triage automation tests for Xcode from the London office. In this role, you will • Use your Swift programming skills and Unix knowledge to triage issues with tests and route to the appropriate engineering team • Use your continuous integration experience to debug and resolve issues in our automation system remotely • Drive product engineers to deliver excellent results for time-critical issues by producing detailed bug reports and following through on resolution • Use your judgment and integrity to report timely and sound decisions about the quality of the product • Remain flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty • Work independently in London and use your communication skills to hand off the current issues to Cupertino at the end of each day. This is a new team that is forming and you will have an integral part in its success Apple’s Xcode development platform allows both internal and external developers to create extraordinary applications for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. The Xcode team is at the intersection of many diverse groups at Apple. We collaborate with hardware and software teams in an ever-evolving, cooperative environment to deliver a development environment that makes our users’ ideas come to life. Xcode is a complex application that requires you to be a creative thinker and strong problem solver. We are looking for a detail-oriented and focused Test Automation Engineer with the curiosity to find automation issues and the initiative to get them fixed.

Education & Experience

BS in Computer Science or equivalent

Additional Requirements

  • The following are desirable, but not required:
  • • Experience using Git for software development
  • • Experience with continuous integration systems and infrastructure, such as Jenkins or Xcode Server
  • • Experience with Swift, ObjectiveC, C/++, Python, CMake
  • • Interest in or familiarity with concepts in programming languages, compilers, and type theory
  • • Experience contributing to open source projects
