Key Qualifications

  • Must-have qualifications:
  • - New product introduction and Automation Manufacturing Operations experience.
  • - Proven working knowledge of DFM (automation equipment design review).
  • - A passion and dedication in cost reduction, project management and automation engineering design.
  • - Understand and create tolerance analysis stack ups for assemblies and part level datums reference.
  • - Confirmed ability in automation & manufacturing field with relevant design technical expertise.
  • - Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English.
  • - Communicate effectively in a worldwide environment.
  • - Strong work ethic with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • - Knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 3D, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use for positioning and critical alignment fixtures.
  • - Basic understanding of glue adhesive dispense, PSAs and VHBs, or coils winding processes, sensing camera processes, glass or lens lamination processes.
  • - Understanding of pneumatics, servo motors, 4axis and 6axis robots, PLC and PC-based control systems a plus.
  • - Knowledge of GD&T principles a plus.
  • - X2, NX4, or Validated Work CAD experiences a plus. JMP, Minitab, and Six Sigma experience a plus.

Description

- Automation Design for Manufacturability: Provide early and on-going automation & manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable and repeatable. Include machine DFM review, set up SOP document creation and FAT/SAT automation line qualification standard. - Product Engineering: Works all phases of a product from concept, to repeat automation manufacturing, to end of life. Provides production support engineering with respect to technically sophisticated testing methods, procedures and failure analysis. Include Geometry Dimensional & Tolerance Analysis knowledge. Enable the product design assembly via fully automation development. - Process Engineering: Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve product quality and automation equipment efficiency. Include machine/process parameter set up skills. Understood several automation manufacturing process such as glue dispense, laser welding, etching, active alignment, etc. - Failure/Data Analysis/Validation Result: Plans, develops, and implements technically complex procedures for the testing and evaluation of soon to be released products. Specifies tests to be performed, compiles data, and makes recommendations for product design changes and final assembly standards. This will include the use of Failure Analysis & Corrective Action & Validation Result (FACAVR), Design Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis using Six Sigma & Monte Carlo tool principles.

Education & Experience

BSME or equivalent (MSME, MSIE desired), with 3+ years in an automation engineering role with experience in automation equipment design (product design add on) as well as design for manufacturability and advanced manufacturing engineering.
