The Apple Finance department based in Cork supports all functions of the Apple business including the European Logistics, Manufacturing and Asia /Pac Operations, European Technical Support, Retail, iTunes and Apple store. Apple’s business is constantly changing and growing to meet market demands. You will take an active role in the payroll activities associated with the European Region, specifically Germany. You will become a member of the wider Finance team with regional interactions. This is a key role in a fast-paced environment with the potential for the role to develop further with additional responsibilities.

Key Qualifications

  • Fluent in English & German
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills / proficient in Excel
  • Strong technical skills, quick to learn new systems
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience dealing with high volume and regular changes in volume
  • Good organizational skills, ability to manage time and priorities effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for all levels of staff
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Project Experience / SAP is an advantage
  • Experience in German payroll & legislation
  • Previous experience working in a high volume payroll processing and a fast paced/dynamic environment
  • Working knowledge of SAP Payroll and Kronos timekeeping an advantage

Description

Full responsibility for the input to payroll provider for monthly payroll of 2500+ salaried employees across multiple entities Monitor interfaces from HR Systems, Time & Attendance systems. Action and investigate any discrepancies on time Fully responsible for ensuring all inputs to payroll are complete and timely and verify payroll outputs Ensure payroll is completed in timely and accurate matter in line with SOX controls Dealing with queries from employees, HR, Managers and the local government authorities Lead and troubleshoot any issues to ensure timely resolution of issues Work closely with local Payroll Vendors, various business teams and HR Identify issues in payroll that require development and provide input to requirements for any proposed system or process changes. Complete the day to day payroll operational tasks Coordinating tax year ends / monthly and quarterly statutory reporting Engage in Payroll Projects and work in testing and UAT cycles Drive operational improvements and standardisations across payroll function

Education & Experience

Bachelor Degree Qualification with IPASS or similar is desirable
