Operations and Supply Chain
This is a critical leadership position in the Apple EMEIA Inbound Logistics team. In this role you’ll lead and manage a team of Regional Supplier Managers (RSMs) and Business Analysts (BAs), providing inspiration, coaching and mentorship. You will also own the management of scale and longer term planning which includes detailed capacity planning, and support for our major commercial negotiations. - At least 5 years leadership experience in an FMCG environment
- Deep knowledge of global supply chains, with a good understanding of the freight forwarding space
- Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to visualise data and talk to important trends and insights
- Proven experience dealing with significant targets in ambiguous, matrixed environments
- Strong experience of influencing behaviours and relationships with peers and suppliers
Lead your team of RSMs and BAs, setting clear goals and targets and supporting the team to achieve them Drive performance, innovation, results and teamwork to the highest possible standards, setting a daily example of outstanding supplier management and planning. Own the engagement and performance of Inbound Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) who supply Apple , including: Driving a robust management system of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews, with meaningful documented actions from this process Clearly articulating and managing our key goals and metrics with our suppliers, taking corrective action where gaps are found Engage with LSP leadership to ensure accountability for the delivery of service, and drive root cause analyses to ensure problems do not re-occur Responsible for Inbound performance, SOP adherence and continuous improvement efforts across both the team and the supplier base Work closely with the other managers in the team in support of their goals, addressing any supplier issues which impact these goals Take the key role in the support of commercial negotiations on behalf of the team (e.g. annual air, ocean and rail rates). Be the key link between the Global Supply Managers and Operations. Working with the broader Logistics function, be a major part of the discussion in setting tactical and strategic goals that align with Apple's business. Own the strategic capacity planning for Inbound, including the week to week assessment of capacity versus forecast Define the requirement for Charters or other forms of ad-hoc capacity need and work with the GSM to ensure the capacity is secured Take ownership of cost management within the team, proactively identifying areas of cost optimisation balanced with service delivery Innovation is central to our work: you'll encourage regular conceptualization in your team, ensuring a pipeline of new project ideas and concepts that can be taken forward and implemented. You will also contribute to a number of ongoing ad-hoc projects throughout the year. Environmental programmes to help improve the impact of our work Project manage unexpected crises with innovation, grace and objectivity, working with your team to drive business continuity and striking a balance between cost and speed to ensure freight keeps moving Take ownership of the Inbound Supplier SOP, keeping it up-to-date and refreshed, and ensuring best-in-class ways of working are deployed in our business Security of our product is paramount: ensure and supervise our suppliers' adherence to the SOP, ensuring any gaps are immediately resolved.
Education & Experience
A third level qualification preferably in Logistics/Supply Chain, or a transferrable field
