The Imaging and Sensing group at Apple develops depth sensing systems such as the revolutionary True Depth camera that powers Face ID and the Scanning LiDAR in the new iPad Pro. This multi-disciplinary group of engineers is responsible for architecture, design, and development of these highly complex sensing systems for all Apple products. The Imaging and Sensing group is looking for an extraordinary Deep Learning Researcher engineer to drive state of the art technologies for Apple products. As part of the team you would work on core hardware components, including the Apple Image processing pipeline, and machine learning neural engine, where you will have the chance to define the way that Apple develops, tests and manufactures all of its products. - Experience in developing Deep Neural Networks for image processing and computer vision applications
- Experience in developing algorithms and network architectures for efficient real-time deployment
- Background in one of the following fields: 3D imaging and reconstruction, Augmented and Virtual Reality, is a significant advantage
In this position you will develop Deep Learning algorithms to be used with state of the art image and depth sensors. These algorithms are targeted to the next generation of products and will enable novel applications and experiences. In this position you will: Solve challenging problems in the domains of sensor fusion and depth estimation. Design algorithms targeted to real world deployment, meeting real time and power constraints. Collaborate with an active community of top notch researchers, developing highly complex pipelines. In particular, you will work closely with sensor technology and vision application teams.
Education & Experience
M.Sc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics Ph.D is an advantage.
