The Carrier Engineering Manager is responsible for managing our top notch carrier technology leads (CTL) and Technical Account Managers (TAM). Together, CTL/TAMs are responsible for taking Apple products through technical approvals with wireless carriers. They are responsible for all day-to-day technical interactions as well as future technology and roadmap alignment with Indian carrier partners.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years prior experience working on phones or similar products that operate on cellular networks. Prior experience managing people is a big plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience working with one or more carriers and partners to deliver products that operate on their network, including supporting lab/field testing


Technical Knowledge: - Extensive proficiency and proven experience analysing full stack logs and troubleshooting wireless features and protocols for 5G, 4G (LTE), 3G (UMTS), and 2G (GSM) - Applied knowledge and understanding of IP technologies: VoLTE and WiFi Calling technologies - Solid understanding of core network deployments. Familiarity with network features and current deployments across India carrier networks - Knowledge of India device certification requirements and processes Leadership Skills: - Drive new technologies that are integral to Apple’s products. Work passionately with telecom partners and regional ecosystem players to help understand and commercialise new technologies - Voice of telecom partners within Apple - Ability to solve complex problems at scale. Should possess great organisation skills to engage right stakeholders both internally and externally. Excellent problem solving skills with hands-on approach is required - Obsessively passionate & inquisitive, to identify opportunities to improve user experience, by working with internal and external organisations Other Skills/Expectations: Outstanding verbal and written command of the English language Strong issue tracking/management abilities Fluent in software engineering processes with considerable software release experience Willingness to travel, as necessary. Willingness to adapt working hours to collaborate with world wide teams. Strong advocate of product and user experience with relevance to India market

Education & Experience

Should have at least a BE or ME degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Additional Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of industry standards. Intimate knowledge of standard development organizations and industry forums. Layer 1 measurement and analysis. Familiarity with Wi-Fi/BT communications systems.
