Detailed integration of software and hardware has delivered magical experiences like Photos Memories and Portrait Mode. The Camera & Photos team creates privacy-respecting machine learning technologies to ship emotional experiences to hundreds of millions of users worldwide. We are responsible for building the on-device infrastructure to compute, persist and vend Photos domain knowledge to 1st party clients across the ecosystem. The libraries are consistently growing, providing great challenges for on-device experiences. Apple’s promise to privacy is our premise, providing an interesting set of constraints, forcing innovation all through the stack. We are looking for an outstanding engineering manager to help build the infrastructure for the next generation of deeply personal products that we deliver. Your Responsibilities will Include: - Engineering team management - Driving cross-functional efforts with Photos partners - Tracking project status and deliverables as part of technical project management - Performant embedded software engineering and productization - Recruiting, selecting and mentoring employees

Key Qualifications

  • - 2+ years experience in management or technical lead role
  • - Track and prioritize tasks across multiple projects simultaneously
  • - Represent your team's work and project statuses in meetings
  • - A dedicated, motivated attitude, with the ability to deal with ambiguity or uncertainty
  • - Work cross-functionally with teams on complex software integration efforts
  • - Robust applied software methodology, process, and quality skills

In this role, you will help the team define and drive the future of the on-device knowledge graph that supports most Camera and Photos experiences. You will support the growth and motivation of your team, foster a strong collaborative culture, and help shape the vision and roadmap of Photos. You will own core technology development, feature development and initiatives — internally as well as cross-functionally. Candidates should have a proven track record that demonstrates innovation, strong collaboration, excellent communication skills, and a passion for designing high-quality software.
