We are looking for a talented, creative and technical user experience researcher to help accelerate our machine learning data annotation efforts by defining great user experiences for a suite of software applications and services.

Key Qualifications

  • Expert in human factors methodology for benchmarking and evaluating user interface designs
  • Expert in qualitative and quantitative experimental design, statistical analysis and reporting
  • Proficient in data exploration and data analysis languages or tools like SQL, Python, R Studio, etc.
  • Excellent listening, communication and interview skills in both individual and group settings
  • Industry experience working with UX designers and software engineers to develop highly-usable and performant interfaces

Description

Our organization is responsible for delivering high-quality, human-annotated, machine learning data at scale for product teams across Apple. We are both an operations team and a trusted partner in the development of Apple’s consumer software and hardware experiences. This global data annotation and collection initiative enables Apple to create amazing new experiences and advance flagship experiences like Siri, Photos, Vison Pro and more. You will be a key member in a multi-disciplinary engineering and design team within Apple’s central annotation operations organization. We design, build and operate the many internal tools that are needed to support this expansive program. Our application experiences are used by thousands of diverse partners across the world. We are creative and forward-thinking. We are passionate about building polished, user-centric and engaging applications. You will be the human factors researcher for a suite of software products and human annotation experiences. You will work directly with a global community of end-users to research human performance and design problems that involve considerations for diverse and varied languages, cultures and abilities. You will research and iterate with product management, data scientists and engineers to deliver inclusive, highly-usable and innovative design recommendations. Your research on tools that enable our global workforce will have immediate and direct impact to product teams across Apple and to the success of our Apple’s AI/ML programs. Sound exciting? Education & Experience

MS or PhD in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology or similar degree
