We develop and run Apple’s global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world! We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician/HVAC Specialist. The primary responsibilities are to contribute significantly to ensuring buildings are operating at the highest levels of occupant comfort while maintaining critical environments without compromising efficiency. Close coordination with all Real Estate & Development groups is encouraged, including but not limited to the Facility Service Center (FSC), Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), Maintenance & Operations, Global Data Center Services & Energy Efficiency partners.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience with all varieties of commercial HVAC electrical, and plumbing systems including chilled water central plants, air handling and rooftop package units, heating hot water system, clean dry air, exhaust, food service refrigeration, gas monitoring systems, and gernal building systems (bathrooms, doors, building, grounds)
  • Experience with all varieties of commercial electrical systems including backup generators, automatic transfer switches, uninterruptible power supplies, power delivery units and Starline busways
  • Familiarity with HVAC and electrical controls installation, field devices and control panel layout
  • Proficiency in navigating and operating building automation systems including Johnson Controls Metasys, Tridium Niagara
  • Proficiency in navigating and operating lighting control systems including Lutron
  • Excellent organizational, documentation and problem-solving skills, willingness to accept additional duties as assigned.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of customer service – effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner across all levels of organization and external vendors
  • Maintenance and repair budget management and invoice tracking
  • Ability to manage and prioritize different projects and tasks with a constant focus on deadlines and priorities
  • Relevant knowledge of local and state building and safety regulations
  • Skilled understanding in the use of computer tools such as Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), productivity software, e-mail, and databases
  • Familiarity with MacOS and iOS platforms

Description

You are an experienced and vibrant professional who will excel within an ambitious culture. You understand the nuances of being approachable encouraging transparent external relationships while balancing fiscal responsibility with creativity. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: - Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting and repair of building automation and MEP systems as needed and participate in the maintenance and repair of all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, building automation, critical environment systems, and general building maintenance - Make periodic inspections of critical building equipment to ensure reliable operation to Apple standards - Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and logs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis; reporting deficiencies as needed - Provide direct supervision to vendors and drive quality of work and goals - Keep accurate documentation of any incidents, including Root Cause Analysis for internal reporting - Respond to after-hours emergencies as they occur - Serve as back-up to the O&M Supervisor as needed
