Key Qualifications

  • - Minimum of 5 Years experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • - Good written and oral communication skills, fluent in English. Knowing Hindi and Tamil language is a plus
  • - Detail oriented
  • - In-depth knowledge of quality, reliability engineering for managing mass production quality control
  • - Basic understanding of metrology and GDT
  • - On site build support; willing to work at OEM factories in Tirupati & Chennai in India
  • - Willing to work independently and travel frequently upon request (mainly in South East Asia and China).

Description

- Manage supplier quality assurance during mass production to meet Apple’s quality requirements: Reviews IQC rejects; involves with sub tier supplier quality issues & drives for quality improvement; monitors FATP fallout; reviews & drives supplier FACA; Actively get CM personnel focused on fixing issues quickly & effectively; - Subject matter expert for all things quality including Quality management and engineering skills, it covers: FMEA’s, Auditing, Failure Analysis, Corrective and preventative actions, and sampling methodologies for IQC, OQC, test coverage for key components, EUT(end-user test) and OBA(open box audit) - Assess supplier readiness to support build events and mass production. Identify potential execution issues and provide recommendations to mitigate risk. - Keen in problem solving analytical skills capable of getting to root cause quickly in challenging environments and with tight deadlines - Interact with cross-function teams in Cupertino & APO to drive yield rate improvement. - Ensure that suppliers deliver quality finish goods or parts, materials, and services: responsible for supporting the qualification and on- going quality improvement of earphone, cable, dock, etc; ensure supplier’s OQC sync up with OEM’s IQC. - Review Apple’s specs/requirements with suppliers, qualifies suppliers according to company standards, qualifies assembly lines and fixtures, and manages limit samples. Strong focus on cosmetic quality is required. - Review dimensional measurement systems in IQC, IPQC, OQC, and ORT to ensure high accuracy and correlation to other measurement systems in the supply chain. - Develop and prioritises an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices and quality standards are met: e.g. factory audit from EVT, DVT, PVT, sustaining. - Evaluate suppliers’ internal quality functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operations.

Education & Experience

- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with good knowledge of general manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, schematics, specs, test methods; Experiences in DFx (DFM , DFT...); ability to read a drawing and understanding the basics of metrology
