As an iPhone Hardware Systems Validation Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of the action at our Contract Manufacturer’s site, steering validation efforts from the very first prototype all the way to launch in an electrifying, fast-paced environment. You’re not just an engineer; you’re a problem-solver with a deep mastery of electrical engineering fundamentals, ready to dive into hands-on debugging, and collaborate seamlessly with multiple engineering teams to perfect our designs. You’ll be working side by side with the iPhone System Electrical Engineering Team to deliver groundbreaking results that touch millions of lives! As Systems Validation Engineer, we love the impact we make on the products that reach our customers. Some of the things you would do are: Lead the Contract Manufacturer HW Validation team onsite and silver milestones with high quality. You will get a chance to work seamlessly with team members across the globe to define rigorous test plans for our products and iterate on design changes to make a robust product. You will participate in debug activities, including actively driving the design of experiments (DOEs). You have the opportunity to develop innovative validation process improvements, such as scripting automation and test board design. You will lead and mentor other validation engineers. Communication is key to make sure all the stakeholders are kept in the loop, and you will optimally report validation progress, risks and top issues to the broader team and upper management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical / Computer Engineer
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering with 3+ years of experience in the electronics industry
  • Familiarity with power electronics, especially DC-DC converters
  • Expertise with hardware bring-up and bench-top measurements with lab equipment (e.g. digital oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power supply) for signal and power integrity
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with low-speed and high-speed digital interfaces (e.g. I2C, SPI, PCIe, DP, etc.) at both the electrical/physical level as well as the protocol level
  • In-depth knowledge of power electronics, including DC-DC converters
  • Understand best practices for test setups based on requirements
  • Ability to root cause issues and recommend design improvements
  • Experience with Project management and data analysis tools (e.g Tableau, pivot tables, Gantt charts, etc)
  • Experience with scripting languages and instrument automation (e.g. Python, LabView) desirable
