Apple is looking for a collaborative, highly organized professional to serve as an Environment, Health and Safety team member, supporting Corporate functions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of occupational health and safety requirements and workplace evaluation as well as a knowledge of applicable regulations and laws. A demonstrated ability to effectively interact and influence is essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for providing EHS site support, which includes:
- Provide hands-on EHS support to the business operation owners including office-based teams, R&D and manufacturing support teams
- Engage and support leadership teams in formulating and driving EHS plans and initiative in India
- Communicate EHS program performance and status to management, as well as defining solutions that integrate corporate EHS policy into local business operations
- Performing EHS inspections and assessments in a variety of workplace settings to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and global standards
- Coordinating chemical inventories, emergency evacuation drills, new equipment and chemical reviews, and regulatory agency inspections and completing assigned compliance tasks in a timely manner
- Providing guidance and training to employees on EHS procedures and practices to promote a best-in-class EHS culture
- Conducting incident investigations and developing corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences
- Staying up to date on EHS regulations and best practices, and making recommendations for improvements to EHS procedures and programs
- Managing EHS documentation and record keeping, ensuring all necessary permits and reports are completed accurately and on time
- Acting as a point of contact for EHS related inquiries and concerns from employees and onsite contractors
- Coordinating and responding to onsite emergency / crisis response efforts
- Participating in the review of operations, processes, and procedures at the proposal/design phase and throughout implementation to control and reduce EHS hazards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement EHS initiatives and improvements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a relevant EHS discipline
- 8+ years of EHS experience
- Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies
- Experience in developing, maintaining and implementing written EHS programs and processes, tools, and materials
- Experience providing laboratory, manufacturing and facilities EHS support
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in a relevant EHS discipline
- 10+ years of EHS experience - preferably in multi-national companies
- Ability to be on call and work off hours as needed, and is comfortable with acting as a first responder in emergency scenarios
- Nationally/internationally recognised professional credentials preferred (i.e., Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH))
- Prior experience in managing EHS related permits and compliance requirements for new and existing facilities in India
- Experience in managing ionising and non-ionising radiation safety programs and compliance requirements in India
