Apple is looking for a collaborative, innovative, and highly organized professional to serve as the Benefits Analyst for our income protection programs which include disability, workers’ compensation, leaves of absences and time-away programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of policies, practices, and the laws associated with leaves, disability and workers’ compensation, as well as significant experience administering such programs, through a third-party vendor, in a large and multifaceted environment. This Benefits Analyst will partner closely with the Benefits team, third-party vendors, and other internal groups such as the HR call center and Payroll, to ensure the effective, efficient, and scalable administration of claims and programs. Will also provide clinical expertise in both physical medicine and mental health as it impacts employee health and productivity as part of the disability and leave process.

Key Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a mid/large size company environment (retail, telephonic support, or technology company experience in a plus)
  • Clinical expertise in physical medicine and/or mental health as it impacts employee health and productivity and disability and leave experience.
  • Deep knowledge of leaves, disability and workers' compensation, and the administration of these programs
  • Experience working with third-party leave administrators
  • Excellent digital literacy; strong proficiency with Excel; experience with Macs a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail, both with quantitative and qualitative data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who is proactive and takes initiative with a consistent track record leading projects from inception to completion
  • Demonstrated success interacting with all levels within an organization
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Case Manager, Certified Disability Management Specialist, Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, Master in Social Work strongly desired.

Description

Act as the subject matter authority to research and resolve issues associated with the most sophisticated and complex leave/disability/ADAA/workers’ compensation claims. Partner with Legal, HR management, internal corporate functions, and external vendors to solve critical claim-related issues. Serve as the primary liaison with internal partners to ensure work processes are efficient, automated, and scalable. Responsible for developing appropriate tools and training for internal partners. Responsible for developing and maintaining reporting tools necessary to manage, administer, and track the data associated with the leave/disability/workers’ compensation programs. Act as internal workers’ compensation guide and liaison with third-party administrator, consultants and internal partners. Responsible for running vendor-focused and cross-functional projects. Act as project lead, develop timelines/milestones, and drive projects to successful completion. Lead and/or complete detailed audits of leave/disability/workers' compensation data and resolve and drive internal or cross- functional improvement efforts.

Education & Experience

Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work or Bachelor's degree in a related field
