The Wireless Connectivity Silicon team is looking for wireless FW test & Lab engineer to help ensure the quality of the innovative wireless silicon for application in Apple’s products! We are also looking for this person with the right abilities and experience to lead day-to-day activities in wireless test labs!

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years proven experience as a firmware test engineer.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in wireless verification including setting up and driving wireless hardware testing in an automated environment.
  • Experience with the development and execution of automated test and continuous integration frameworks.
  • Experience in FW/SW white box testing including test plan design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance.
  • Decent experience in scripting and debugging in any of the following: Python, Perl, TCL, C++, or equivalent.
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills: analyze and investigate test failures, errors, build issues, and be able to accurately drive issues to completion.
  • Understanding of wireless protocol, systems/MAC/PHY, and WiFi/BT Functional or Performance or Stability Testing
  • Experience using shield boxes, attenuators, Buttler matrix, network analyzers, and other miscellaneous RF equipment/accessories like cables, splitters
  • Experience with solving computer and network-related issues.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings, including schematics, layouts, and other technical documents.
  • Strong level of expertise with either Excel or Numbers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Description

Collaborate with FW, Radio, MAC, and Systems engineering teams to develop a FW test plan to ensure the stability, reliability, function correctness, and performance of Apple’s wireless silicon FW and products. Work on test plan development, manual and automatic test setup/scripts, publish test reports, collect test logs, first screen of test failure/debug. Build pre-silicon, and post-silicon reference board test setups, as well as production specific test setups. Support development in debugging and reproducing issues, work with system QA on bug reproduction, log/statistic collection, run debug tests with debug FW build, etc. Assisting firmware verification engineers and multi-functional teams in lab setup and planning based on given space, power. Bring lab setups involving usage of (but not limited to) shield boxes, RF attenuators, cables, splitters, Buttler matrices, signal analyzer Experience calibrating RF path loss using VNA in setups Set up, handle, and maintain test hardware including debugging setup-related issues. Working with IT to configure and debug network-related topics such as connectivity, through-put, firewalls, IP management, etc. - Lead and maintain a sufficient inventory of key equipment including cables, connectors, and adapters. - Monitor and report utilization of all test systems to ensure accurate allocation of capital resources.

Education & Experience

BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
