Epitaxy Equipment Engineering Leader

This is a full-time on-site equipment engineering leadership position. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining III-V epitaxy processes equipment in a semiconductor wafer research facility. The Leader will drive the modification of equipment to enable new capabilities to support a variety of process and design development projects, and will ensure that the equipment is properly maintained for safety, up-time, and reproducibility. The Leader also will be responsible for metrology and characterization equipment.
The Leader will have substantial day-to-day responsibilities in the development laboratory. They will be responsible for monitoring process and characterization equipment performance and resolving issues. They will write and implement daily work instructions, and participate in training and coaching. They will maintain standard operating procedures and traceability, and maintain spare parts inventories.
The Leader will supervise equipment engineers, work with technicians, operators, process engineers, and facilities staff on a daily basis, and will maintain strong relationships with equipment vendor field service engineers.
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance and operation of production-scale MOCVD equipment with arsine and phosphine sources
- 10+ years of experience with delivery and abatement systems for hazardous chemicals and gases, and phosphorus
- Able to lift 75 pounds, scale ladders of varying heights, and wear supplied-air respirators, SCBA, and Level B suits
- Master’s in Engineering
- 10 years of experience with MOCVD equipment used to grow lasers, photodetectors, or LEDs in the AlInGaAsP and AlInGaN material systems
- 5 years of experience with automatic wafer handling equipment
- 5 years of experience with wafer characterization equipment
- 10 years of experience with operation and configuration of in-situ metrology systems for MOCVD (pyrometers, reflectometers)
- Experience with querying databases with Python code
