The JAPAC Online Operations Leader is responsible for the overall operations of the Online Stores in JAPAC, aligning people, process and technologies to ensure a frictionless e-commerce experience for Apple’s customers. The role provides the opportunity to facilitate and lead the operational functions while innovating to ensure the best possible customer experience.
- 15+ years proven experience in a face-paced environment with deep exposure to e-commerce and order fulfillment operations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Presenting to peers and senior executives/management is critical to success.
- Track record of organizing and driving projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing and influencing a diverse group of people.
- Thrives in an ambiguous environment where there is quite a bit of accountability without authority.
- Significant project management and operational experience within an eCommerce, Internet or multi-channel environment.
- A fast learner who can quickly apply and adapt knowledge in varying fast paced situations.
- International work experience with knowledge of cultural/regional differences and proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
Operational: - Flawlessly manage and lead regional launch execution and post-launch support for Apple Online and partner platforms including Tmall and WeChat. - Coordinate regional post launch fixes and drive regional hindsight exercises contributing to improvements for future releases. - Provide operational management and leadership for promotional programs such as Black Friday, Back to School etc. - Provide regional input and feedback on new online features and operations projects. Understand and vet operational changes to ensure quality readiness prior to go-live. - Represent the JAPAC customer in all critical capital plans & strategic programs. Strategic: - Develop, evangelize and drive strategic programs to ensure global scalability, quality and effectiveness of Online Operations. Commercial: - Drive commercial operational decisions that impact customers. - i.e supply chain, order admin and day to day exception management that require customer communications and/or store merchandising changes. - Provide 360 view on business, bridging the gap between commercial and operational functions. - Make connections between teams, concepts, programs, and ideas to ensure we stay ahead of trends. - Influence key business partners to understand, demonstrate and advocate for the online business. Leadership & Management: - Directly handle the regional Online Operations team, and lead a broader matrixed regional Online Operations organization providing vision, setting direction & expectations and motivating the team. - Act as an escalation point for the region for operational issues. Liaise closely with partners including IS&T, Operations, Product Management, RCCR, RCC, Finance, Legal, GA and PR. - Effectively lead a remote workforce with team members geographically distributed across China, Japan and Singapore. - Act as a thought leader and partner to partner teams, bringing operational expertise and customer oriented solutions to problems, issues and opportunities. - Influence worldwide teams to ensure regional needs and preferences are represented in key operational and commercial decisions. - Track and lead regional Online Operations expenses, in close association with regional and WW functional leads and Finance partners. Education & Experience
Degree in Business management or related field preferred
