This position is based in China for the management equipment quality, and auditing of sophisticated equipment and facilities in a high volume worldwide manufacturing environment. Working multi-functionally in a team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the quality and reliability of equipment to the end-user from multiple suppliers.

Key Qualifications

  • - Experience in other sophisticated capital equipment such as military, aerospace, automotive, large agricultural machinery, electronics etc. Experience in a supplier quality or technical supplier management role.
  • - Proficiency using Excel and presentation software.
  • - Ability to resolve conflicts and drive compromise. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • - Strong background of and equipment quality engineering. Preferred and minimum should be quality trained person.

Description

- In this role, you will partner with equipment supplier and Apple technical team to act as the team’s representative to insure the proper dissemination of specs and requirements, assess supplier capabilities and readiness for manufacturing, identify critical to quality items on each equipment, track and drive day-to-day quality control of equipment ensuring compliance to spec through equipment spot checks, and aid with the proper shipment of equipment to the end-user. - You will be able to clearly and concisely report on the status of the supplier readiness and project health to the multi-functional team and executive management team while thoughtfully identifying and calling out critical issues which may affect the quality. - Focus on supplier factory preparations, critical issues, clear communication and intensive spot and outgoing inspection during engineering design and validation cycles for new programs as well as during production ramp. - Support the GSM in the development and execution of comprehensive equipment support contracts. Primary Tasks - Define and implement Quality plan for new projects at supplier and supervise the execution of the program through ramp - Develop, review and implement intensive out-going inspection programs to verify equipment quality before it leaves the factory - Review and approve packaging and shipping procedures to insure the quality of equipment being received at the CM. - Aid with the development of incoming inspection procedures and processes to insure a quick and seamless handover - Prepare and report on correlations between OEM IQC and Supplier OQC data SECONDARY TASKS - Handle and report on new line, tool, and process qualification at suppliers Assist GSM team with new vendor selection and vendor capability audits - Work with Suppliers and Apple security teams to ensure that the highest level of confidentiality is maintained with all equipment used with Apple hardware and test. - Aid in the organization and deployment of repair and assistance teams from the supplier when needed for equipment repairs on site or at the supplier. - Evaluate supplier ability to support maintenance contracts. - Drive weekly supplier meetings with CM and Program Team to meet overall program objectives. - Lead cross- functional communication between internal Apple technical, operational, and contract manufacturer organizations. - Facilitate good communication and collaboration across engineering functions, operations, and vendors Create and maintain project schedules. - Provide timely issue resolution and critical path activities.

Education & Experience

- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering background
