QA Engineer for Mac and iOS USB Accessories Location: Santa Clara Valley, California, United States Job Summary The USB Connectivity Compliance QA Team is looking for a passionate engineer to help bring up and qualify Apple first party USB Type-C accessories for the Mac and iOS device ecosystem. We work closely with the Mac hardware and software engineering teams to ensure the product line meets Apple and USBIF compliance standards. We're looking for someone hands-on, enthusiastic and self-motivated with a deep understanding of USB interconnect at both hardware and software layers. - Some knowledge of oscilloscopes, USB signal generators, ENA, protocol analyzers and logic analyzers.
- Self-motivated - you should enjoy leading and taking ownership of assigned projects, exhibit good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
- Experience with SQA methodology and processes. Be able to author and present test plans and test strategies.
As a Mac and iPhone USB Accessory Sr. QA Engineer for the USB Connectivity Compliance QA Team, your contributions will include validation of USB hardware design for the Mac, Apple first party USB accessory ecosystem using industry standard tools such as mixed signal oscilloscopes and USB Type-C compliance systems. You will be validating USB Power Delivery Compliance as it pertains to USBIF-PD Specification. You should be a self-starter to identify test tools, fixture designs and equipment to streamline testing and to expand test procedures for the team based on the latest USB protocols. You will help ensure that USBIF compliance and Apple internal Mask specification standards are met. You will collaborate with teams like hardware development, QA and Core OS teams for new Accessory bring up including component and system level validation. You will analyze USB connectivity issues at all system levels from hardware channel characteristics to the USB software stack. You'll have the opportunity to represent our team in meetings and clearly, concisely and accurately report project status, results and issues to groups.
Education & Experience
- EE, or CS degree or equivalent work experience
