Siri lives at the intersection of high scale and leading edge technology. Each of Siri's billions of weekly requests must be understood, parsed, and executed in real time, covering a scope of thousands of features in more than 30 locales across every Apple device category. In this role, you will lead a team of writers and editors to deliver polished and consistent dialog for Siri, and you will collaborate with international writers, designers, engineering, and Apple marketing staff to help Siri be more effective and delightful.

Key Qualifications

  • At least seven years of experience in relevant creative roles (writer, editor)
  • At least four years of experience managing teams of creatives
  • Excellent overall writing and editorial skills; strong knowledge of English grammar and style
  • Experience leading creative teams of writers and editors, providing them with appropriate feedback, and guiding their career growth
  • Experience working with software engineering teams, practices, and tools; experience with Agile methodology
  • Be a superb communicator (spoken and written) and comfortable presenting to executives
  • Product marketing experience is a plus
  • Experience with voice assistants or dynamic dialog systems is a plus

Description

We're looking for someone who is comfortable working in an energizing environment with rapidly changing priorities, and for a creative individual with a consistent track record of leading writers and editors. You are someone who excels in the craft of writing, loves language and wordplay, is adept at unpacking the nuances of conversation, can critique, guide, and mentor other creatives, and can create and execute an overall editorial strategy within a product organization. Role Mentor and grow a diverse team of writers and editors Ensure the overall excellence of all Siri dialog from all sources Develop and execute a strategy for editorial aligned to the broader goals of the Siri organization; evolve Siri as a distinct, recognizable character Collaborate directly with design and Apple marketing teams on executing strategic initiatives Coordinate with Siri’s international writers and ensure excellence of dialog across locales Refine and drive the processes and tools necessary for an editorial team to work effectively and efficiently (with producers and EPMs); prioritize work and deliver results Collect, analyze, and interpret data for evidence to support editorial initiatives Represent editorial across the company and advocate for the team with critical partners, including Apple executives

Education & Experience

BA degree in English, Literature, or Journalism or equivalent
