Apple is looking for a talented and motivated Tools and Analysis Intern to be a member of the team supporting ongoing R&D projects. As a member of this group, you would create and own the software tools which enable a small group of individuals to apply their expertise to new Apple products. You would also use these tools to run simulations in giant cloud computing clusters, analyze, summarize and present the results. You would accomplish this by automating repetitive data management tasks, and building the tools the team uses to analyze these huge data sets.  This role requires a full spectrum of skills, and needs someone who can implement the right solution to any problem which comes along.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong self-starter, capable of working well independently and on a team
  • Experience building apps for Mac or iOS (Objective-C or Swift)
  • Understanding of the graphics frameworks on Mac or iOS
  • Understanding of Metal (or OpenGL)
  • Ability to document work and track code (git or other SCM)
  • Familiarity with signal processing methods and techniques
  • Experience with modeling plant and control systems in MATLAB, or similar engineering tools
  • Inquisitive and determined nature
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills


The ideal candidate is an engineering student (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) with a passion for building software to help engineers converge on optimal designs more efficiently. We need an engineer that is comfortable writing Mac applications that can support our engineering team with ongoing R&D projects. Responsibilities include: Implement, store, search and load of large data sets in varied formats Create visualizations of the data Build user interfaces for signal processing and analysis of the data Participate and contribute to engineering discussions related to analysis of the data

Education & Experience

Currently working toward a BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program.
