As part of the PD Advanced Architecture Team, you will create designs that define and enable future Apple products. The work draws heavily on divergent thinking, teaming-up with multi-functional partners, and putting ideas to paper, CAD, designs and prototypes.

Key Qualifications

  • Amazing creativity

  • Shown ability of blank-sheet design and execution
  • Fundamental knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Minimum 5 years related experience
  • Exposure to the following considered a plus:
  • Mechanism design
  • High Volume Part & Assembly
  • Hands-on fabrication (shop tools and materials)
  • Multi-functional disciplines such as industrial design, thermals, electrical engineering and manufacturing
  • Numerical modeling (back of the envelope calculations, spreadsheet, geometric, kinematic, structural/magnetic FEA)

Description

In this role, you will lead and develop novel mechanical concepts for often open-ended problems, spanning single modules or technologies to entire product layouts. Past examples include the Taptic Engine, iMac and Mac Pro products. Day to day activities include driving, inventing, designing, prototyping, characterizing, validating, presenting and implementing mechanical designs while engaging with teammates, various engineering teams and executive leadership.
