The role has wide ranging responsibilities covering all technical and quality support of Process chemicals and Epoxies, used to make ICs and a wide range of innovative semiconductor modules, such as cameras, optical sensors and sensing devices. The role can be based in any location worldwide. Since responsibility is for a range of factories in various countries, frequent and flexible travel is required. This person will be an operational technical expert for a range of epoxies and process chemicals and will have a full understanding of the design and function of those products; the manufacturing process, test and iPQC control; the quality control and Failure analysis of the products. They will manage and support ramp readiness and troubleshoot all issues that impact volume and quality in mass production

Key Qualifications

  • More than 5 years of working experience. Ideally in the process chemical or epoxy industry, working on applications, manufacturing, quality or metrology.
  • Knowledge of working with customers in the semiconductor industry is an advantage.
  • Incumbent should have track record of technical excellence and interaction with vendors.
  • Fluent English with excellent written communication, good management presentation skills, and ability to comprehend and articulate complex technical issues and the resulting impact to supply.
  • Willing to travel outside of designated country. This could reach 50% on peak demand period.
  • Able to work under time pressure and adaptable to flex work hours for international conference calls.
  • Systematic and organized approach in problem solving and data analysis
  • Knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry is mandatory

Description

NPI: o Collaborate with R&D / Engineering / Supply Management team for timely deployment of new projects o Manage product ramp blockers and design for manufacturability, for the materials, the processes and the equipment during the NPI phase. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for timely corrective actions through each build to intercept the ramp. o On-site reviews for ramp readiness. This can include raw material suppliers, equipment, and module assembly sites. o Develop Process Control Plans (PCP), Critical to Quality metrics (CTQ) and traceability systems for high risk new developments. o Ensure vendor Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Statistical Process Control systems ( SPC) and Networked equipment control ( CIM ) are appropriate to maintain a high level of quality control and low supply risk. o Ensure retained data and samples allows fast debug of issues. o Establish regular reliability testing. o Develop appropriate shipping packing and methods and document. o Project manage new manufacturing equipment or techniques o Verify that all planning assumptions are realistic to achieve the capacity target. Agree targets. o Identify, prioritize and mitigate key technical risks associated with a product to enable the quality ramp of a product. o Conduct factory readiness review for engineering builds, pilot runs and mass production Ramp and Mass Production: o Participate in product engineering meetings and take the lead to resolve any module integrator quantity or quality problems. Communicate the status clearly. o Liaise with Global Supplier Management, Engineering, Module Supplier Quality Engineers, and module Technical Program Managers. Take the lead to resolve technical issues blocking capacity and quality stability. o Run yield improvement programs and collaborate with Cupertino engineering. o Manage post-ramp qualification of new material, process and specification changes. o Work with Cross functional teams on issues and the resultant key learnings. Fan out Best Known Methods (BKM) to all Epoxy and process chemical suppliers. o Cross audit the manufacturing sites and ensure BKM fan-out and sharing. Activities specific for Epoxies and Process Chemicals: o Keep a master list of all POR materials and a manufacturing risk assessment for each o Identify new, unique or difficult materials that require special qualification each year o Run the qualification plans for new materials o Understand the BOM, subcomponent sources and make a manufacturing risk assessment of each. Ensure each multiple source or config is qualified in engineering builds o Ensure that materials are 100% POR in EVT builds o Organize multi lot qualification at the user level o Organize corner lots for user process sensitivity analysis and process window validation o Conduct factory audits and qualification o Contribute DFM on material selection

Education & Experience

Degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline. "A" knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry is mandatory
