The Core Audio team provides the audio infrastructure for all of Apple’s platforms including OS X, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The rich set of audio frameworks and APIs, and strong foundations in reliable, low latency audio, have established these platforms as the industry leaders for professional audio and music applications. IMG’s Core Audio team provides audio foundation for various high profile features like Siri, phone calls, Face Time, media capture, playback, and API’s for third party developers to enrich our platforms. We're looking for talented engineers who are passionate about building audio software products for millions of customers and care about overall user experience. You will be pushing the boundaries of audio experience for future technologies.

Key Qualifications

  • Motivated, self-starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 5+ years of experience with audio-related software development
  • Excellent programming skills in C/C++/ObjC required
  • Familiarity with Core Audio APIs is highly desired


The team is looking for an enthusiastic team member with a passion for audio and music to take a lead role in focusing on 3rd party developers and their use of audio on our platforms. You will be a part of the engineering team helping to make decisions about future API directions. In addition, you will be responsible for interfacing with developers to help resolve issues involving the use of audio in their applications, triaging and debugging developer issues, driving documentation of APIs, managing and growing a suite of sample code. You will also help plan and manage Core Audio’s contributions to Apple’s yearly World Wide Developer Conference. The position will also involve working with our partnership management teams to interface with key developers, and to arrange for on-site developer workshops as needed.

Education & Experience

BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
