Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years in the networking industry.
  • CCNA/NP required and CCIE wireless or equivalent nice to have
  • Comprehensive understanding of WiFi technologies, experience with designing WLAN environments and skilled in setup of Cisco & Meraki WiFi products plus experience running RF across a mix of physical spaces
  • Knowledge of Troubleshooting tools - Wireshark, ekhau for wireless surveys, fluke/aircheck for spot-checking and spectrum analyzers for the best RF experience
  • Good technical leadership, teammate, collaborator, rapid decision maker and outstanding interpersonal skills to lead technical teams through the incredible challenge of event network buildout and operation
  • Tight-knit collaboration, presentation & negotiation skills to work effectively with a variety of business partners on collecting requirements and proposing solutions
  • Strong organization skills, multitasker, ability to get going quickly in fast-paced environment and work under stress while leading meaningful build-outs to a strict timeline.
  • You have worked with OSPF & BGP routing protocols on cisco platforms, Layer two switching, IP Addressing/subnetting, Palo Alto Firewall and VPN solutions
  • Experience with setup, leading and automating IOS, ISO-XR, NX-OS, WLC, ScreenOS and JunOS
  • Occasional Travel across the US will be required to assist with company events


The GNCS LAN Services - Event Team is seeking a technical leader to build & operate world-class connectivity solutions for internal employee and external customer events! You will build a strong trusted partnership with Apple business, partners & vendors to plan and deploy standard network solutions for a blend of internal and external events that vary in size, type and locations across North America. It's an exciting, fast paced environment planning Apple events that requires a self-motivated problem solver who is comfortable planning their way through times of ambiguity to enable business partners to seamlessly per form critical company launches and create an amazing experience for our attendees. You have a creative mindset, passion for achieving the incredible in short timeframes and deep technical background preferably deploying & operating broad range of network technologies across range of company events. Key Responsibilities: - You will partner closely with the Apple events team to capture requirements and develop solutions to enable connectivity in different functions at varying types of events. - You will develop repeatable standard designs, deployment methodologies, documentation playbooks and support procedures for the most critical events. - You are responsible for introducing new capabilities & solutions as the business adds new requirements at events and evolving standard solution sets to ensure the technology & designs are fresh, healthy, modernized and capable of meeting event growing capacity requirements. Solution resiliency, reliability and recovery methodologies need to be defined & tested over time to ensure we’re using the optimal practices & processes. - In this role you will have the opportunity multi-vendor networking products used across different event types and sizes. Partner with internal business teams during events to enhance network solutions to support business and environment for unplanned activities like customer pop up demo’s - You will setup and operate large customer facing events with 5000 attendees that involve keynotes and internet streaming. Operate event network like a world-class operations team providing monitoring/alerting solutions to ensure awareness to any failures, build the incident processes to react & resolve any problems as they arise and conduct post-mortem/Root Cause Analysis for any major customer impacting incidents. - Be prepared to handle increased capacity demands, deploy solutions to measure utilization of key elements in the event infrastructure and partner with the business to understand growth for events each year. - Responsible for leading equipment shipping and inventory for each event which consists of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless AP’s and toolsets - Evaluating and testing new products to improve event network solutions capability year over year at events. - Manage all telecom service providers, contract, ordering & provisioning/test process to turn up all data circuit connectivity - Work closely with leadership to set strategic direction for team, developing quarterly & yearly goals and maintain/report on status across team portfolio - Leading resource partners, negotiating/scoping contracts and price management to deliver scaled cost effective service at events where assistance required

Education & Experience

BA/BS in Computer Science/Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience
