The iOS Backup client team is responsible for one of the most important services on iOS enabling millions of Apple devices to store photos, videos and app data in iCloud. We’re looking for engineers passionate about building reliable and scalable software. We work closely with other client and server teams to provide the best user experience possible across all Apple products. We’re looking for junior engineers passionate about building reliable and scalable software.

Key Qualifications

  • - 3+ years of experience in software development
  • - Proficient in Objective-C or Swift
  • - Experience with iOS and macOS development tools including XCode, Instruments, git


As an iOS Backup engineer you'll work on the client-side of the iCloud service, building the daemons and frameworks required for backing up iOS data. You will join a hands-on development team that fosters creativity and generates novel solutions to deliver engineering excellence. You'll partner with a variety of multi-functional teams at Apple to design, build and deploy solutions at scale. Education & Experience

A BS/MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience is required.

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with backup and sync engines is a plus
  • Experience with performance investigations and optimizations
