Advanced audio technology is at the heart of Apple’s products. The Interactive Media Group (IMG) is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to help lead software work in this area. Our team is responsible for defining and running project plans that move several teams from idea through shipping amazing new features and products. We are looking for strong system software fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work with an amazing team to develop ground-breaking products. This role includes working with our engineering teams to define, schedule, track and communicate status of all work taking place within those teams. Facilitating communication between groups is critical.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management in a high-tech environment, or equivalent technical management role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership on major, cross-functional projects
  • Experience with software development and/or system planning for new audio products
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand technical concepts in a wide range of fields
  • Be able to provide succinct, accurate executive summaries of complicated situations

Description

Apple’s Interactive Media Group provides the audio and graphics software foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, from iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, to Apple TV, iTunes, Beats, and Mac. As a key link between developers and our hardware, IMG drives Apple’s audio playback, processing and recording experiences through several APIs, including CoreAudio. The IMG EPM team plays a meaningful role in delivering new software features and functionality across all OS platforms – iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS. As the EPM for the audio team, you’ll be responsible for, or participate in: - Building and maintaining implementation plans for all audio team commitments across multiple operating systems and hardware products. - Maintaining a multi-year roadmap of commitments from and requests of the audio teams. - Defining communication between the audio teams and other engineering partners. - Driving software implementation for audio related features and projects across mulitple teams. - Communicating project progress to all multi-functional stakeholders.

Education & Experience

BS/MS (EE/CS/CE a plus)
