Apple Health Special Projects is a diverse team focus on bringing health data to life. Our team is looking for a UI Designer with passion for data visualization and usability. The ideal candidate is a brilliant problem solver, quick study, self starter, has ability to create simple visualizations for complex data sets, and is an excellent communicator with a keen eye for great design and ability to achieve it. The candidate possesses that rare blend of interaction design, visual design, and rapid-prototyping skills. 

Key Qualifications

  • Well-versed in fundamental visual and interactive design disciplines and principles
  • An outstanding portfolio of work demonstrating the successful delivery of innovative interface design solutions for web, desktop applications and/or mobile devices
  • Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles
  • Complete mastery of iOS, as both user and designer

Description

From brainstorming through implementation, this team member will work in collaboration with engineers, data scientists and other health experts to create simple and seamless experiences by distilling product requirements and user goals into sketches, wireframes and experimental prototypes. Projects will require advocacy to collaborators, including other design experts, and the ideal candidate will help shepherd ideas from conception to release advocating for clean and understandable solutions along the whole journey. S/he is an effective diplomat with strong communication and organizational skills who is willing to prove her/himself within a company of talented individuals. Ability to create consumer friendly data visualizations for complex data Experience with iOS interaction and visual frameworks/ guidelines Incorporates understanding of key healthcare concepts and their inter-relationships into designs Applies design experience and expertise to drive an iterative design process to achieve, innovative and creative proof of concept prototypes Intuitive understanding of usability and user centered design principles Ability to present complex ideas through simple and elegant artifacts Experience with foundational principles of interaction and visual design The ideal candidate will be a scrappy individual who thinks outside the box on how to tackle problems.

Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts or similar preferred
