Join us, and you’ll have an important role in continuing Apple’s legacy of efficiency and success. Apple's Global Business Solutions (GBS) organization is seeking a Data Analyst in Austin, Texas. In this role you will work as the global analytics lead for the Record to Report organization. You will also partner with IS&T to establish, maintain and constantly improve data analytics infrastructure, build world class reporting, and bring advanced analytics to GBS. The role will also provide support for other key organizations within GBS: Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, Hire to Retire, GBS Ops, and Apple Travel.

Key Qualifications

  • Background in finance, computer science, mathematics or similar quantitative field with a minimum of 5 years professional experience
  • Ability to work on a small team in a constrained environment is a critical requirement
  • General programming language proficiency (Python preferred)
  • Highly proficient with SQL (Read and write)
  • Ability to gather requirements and clearly communicate complex data analysis results
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, methodologies and frameworks
  • Foundational knowledge and demonstrated application of statistical data analysis, machine learning
  • Data munging and Extract Transform Load (ETL) automation experience
  • Experience with exploratory data analysis and data visualization using R, Python or Tableau
  • History of driving process improvements, system automation and world class reporting
  • Corporate finance and accounting (US GAAP) knowledge a major advantage
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Ability to work as an end to end data analysts (e.g. requirements and data acquisition to model deployment)
  • A sense of humor and an eagerness to learn

Description

• Enable the Record to Report function's analytics and data automation capability • Analyze large datasets to glean, report and provide for decisions using actionable insights • Independently design, code, and test major features, and work jointly with other team members to deliver on projects of all sizes • Bring creative solutions to induct, clean, monitor and streamline data from different internal big data stores, flat files, and unstructured sources

Education & Experience

• Undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics or other quantitative discipline • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting with three years demonstrated experience in data analytics and programming
