Apple designs consumer electronics that have touched millions and changed the way people interact with electronic devices around the world. The Sensor Calibration & Instrumentation Group is looking for an engineer directly responsible for the design of instrumentation systems for input devices and sensors. This engineer will work closely with the validation and design groups to ensure the success of current and future Apple products. Job Responsibilities Specification, development and deployment of input device and sensor calibration and performance verification systems for use during Apple new product introduction (NPI).

Key Qualifications

  • Required Experience
  • BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
  • 1+ years of professional experience
  • Experience programming in one or more of the following: C/C++/Objective-C
  • Experience with test automation and optimization
  • Experience working with one or more of the following sensors: accelerometer, pressure, force
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP), vibration control, control systems
  • Solid EE basics
  • Preferred Skills
  • 3+ years of professional experience
  • Ability to read schematics, and debug PCBA
  • Experience with high volume consumer electronics
  • Ability to apply innovative simple solutions to complex problems
  • Experience plotting and processing data in JMP/MATLAB/Python
  • Experience data mining large data sets in JMP/MATLAB/Python
  • Mac OS X experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Description

Specification, development and deployment of input device and sensor calibration and performance verification systems for use during Apple new product introduction (NPI). Responsibilities include Develop, optimize and debug software in C/C++/Objective-C Specify and acquire equipment, components and tools for use in a NPI environment Specify and validate the required mechanical fixture-ing for calibrating and measuring devices Deploy calibration and performance verification systems throughout the NPI cycle Analyze large amounts of sensor data and adopt data-driven approach to solving engineering challenges Debug from the system level down to the component level

Education & Experience

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
