AppleCare Business Insight is a dynamic data science organization that provides insight to improve post sale ownership experience and to drive business impact. This role is for a full-stack data scientist within AppleCare Business Insight team to provide data driven insight to improve revenue and margin for AppleCare’s extended warranty products. You will build statistical and machine learning models to surface actionable business insights. The role engages with the business and finance teams to define problem statement, design analytical solution and operationalize the solution. The employee also works with large scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems and modeling environments (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Cosmos, CloudML, Turi , etc).
- Build data engineering assets using Teradata SQL
- Develop interactive, self-service Tableau dashboards
- Program in Python/R to develop predictive and forecasting models
- Device advanced statistical/machine learning methods to improve critical metrics
- Build production quality machine learning models
- Build churn models and CLTV models
- Mine huge datasets to drive actionable insights
- 2-3 years of experience required
Excellent statistical, machine learning and analytics skills Expert in data modeling and analysis in R/Python Experience in data engineering using SQL, Tableau A strong quantitative academic background Ability to network broadly across the organization and drive collaboration Knowledge of regression, time series analysis, clustering, decision tree techniques Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience in providing analytics support for subscription business is an added bonus
Education & Experience
BA/BS in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Ops Research etc.) Masters or PhD in Statistics is a plus.
