AI Research is looking for an experienced Research Project Manager to partner with researchers in the creation of groundbreaking technologies across products and platforms using machine learning and artificial intelligence. As part of the AI Research team, you will help build and apply innovative artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to address top cutting-edge challenges. You will be part of a fast moving and innovative team, where your expertise to drive ML/AI projects will impact the future of Apple.

Key Qualifications

  • Ph.D or 5+ years of engineering or research experience working on ML/AI projects
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills and a curiosity to discover opportunities for impact
  • Ability to align, with excellent communication, negotiation, and organization skills
  • Keen interest in applying AI/ML technologies to real world challenges
  • Understanding of modern machine learning R&D techniques
  • Experience working in a dynamic multi-disciplined engineering environment
  • Owner and driver of project planning and development using well-defined metrics
  • Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience

Description

Lead efforts to create and maintain a roadmap, while keeping the team focused on the critical path Lead efforts to communicate progress and key results to internal partners and stakeholders via presentations, documentation and  web technologies Gather and communicate project status and metrics clearly to leadership and executive team Drive cross-functional teams to build and enhance state-of-the-art machine learning models Analyze user quality metrics, propose improvements, design and deploy successful A/B experiments Help communicate AI/ML best practices Collaborate with other Apple teams to promote cross-team technology sharing Work with researchers and internal partners to define, create, and acquire datasets that can drive innovation Ensure project reporting practices (e.g. wiki templates/content, status update methods) are effective and efficient  

Education & Experience

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics or other engineering degrees

Additional Requirements
