Apple’s Exploratory Design group is seeking an enthusiastic electrical engineer to join a team of highly innovative scientists and engineers to design, validate and implement novel technologies. The candidate must be self-driven and self-sufficient in laboratory environments. He or she must have both analog and digital circuit design expertise and be able to realize and validate those designs on a PCB. It is highly desirable that the candidate can create the software stack to execute experiments with said PCB and analyze any measurement results.

Key Qualifications

  • Model building and performance evaluation
  • Simulation tools such as HSPICE or Cadence Spectre
  • VHDL, Verilog RTL, Digital Logic Design
  • Analog measurement techniques
  • Scripting language – Python
  • Lab equipment use and programming
  • Basic signal processing – Fourier transforms, sampling theory
  • Uncertainty Analysis and Statistics
  • Mathematica and MatLab experience is a plus
  • Able to execute self-directed investigations
  • Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills

Description

The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to: - Implementing and evaluating hardware systems and mixed signal processing designs through lab testing and/or simulations - Designing and implementing test plans to ensure systems meet requirements - Discover and quantify limitations of systems/technologies and provide recommendations on how they can be overcome - Conceptualize and implement demos for use cases of novel technologies

Education & Experience

MS Minimum EE/CE with 5+ years industry experience or equivalent.

Additional Requirements
