JOB SUMMARY Come join the Sensor Technology team, which is a multi-disciplinary, problem-solving team that is developing state of the art sensor solutions and technologies. You'll have an opportunity to do development from proof-of-concept all the way through end-product launch. These sensor solutions are central to Apple’s products, which include iPhone, iPad, Watch, etc... The key goal of the team is to enable the world’s best user-experience through state-of- the-art sensor solutions, such as the high-precision, low-latency multi-touch and stylus sensors in the our products. Key Qualifications

  • Ph.D preferred; or Masters w/2+ years exp., or Bachelors w/5+ years experience in EE, Mechatronics, Physics, or industry equivalent
  • Analog and Mixed-Signal circuit design, especially board-level circuits.
  • Hands-on experience in system-level design (outside the chip), or interest to transition from IC to system-level
  • Experience in Sensor Design is ideal, but not a requirement
  • Experience utilizing multi-disciplinary domains in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics, and/or Physics is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, and proven team-work and leadership skills.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SPICE, or similar simulation and modeling tools.

Description

As a Sensor Module Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the following: - Sensor design and integration, e.g. touch panel design. - Schematic design of boards and flexible assemblies. - ASIC application design, system-level bring-up, and integration. - Sensor subsystem modeling (e.g. in MATLAB) and prototyping (e.g. PCB design). - Failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving. - Design analysis, characterization, and validation. - Sensor technology scoping and proof-of-concept investigations. - Business travel to support product development. MULTI-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Engage and collaborate with cross-collaborative teams, including Mechanical Engineering, Firmware Engineering, and Process Engineering, to deliver state-of-the-art Touch solutions. - Author executive communications pertaining to key development checkpoints. - Provide technical assessments to strategic decision-making relating to technology and investments.
