Design, develop, and launch next-generation sensor technologies in Apple products. Apple’s Incubation Hardware & Systems group is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with strong capabilities in board and system design. You will be responsible for architecture definition, development, and integration of high performance prototypes of classic, depth, and machine vision imaging systems to achieve Apple’s Incubation and Prototyping goals. Key Qualifications

  • Electronics experience:
  • SOC’s, microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), FPGA’s
  • Processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, storage, high speed serial I/F’s)
  • High-speed signaling and camera electrical protocols (e.g., MIPI, LVDS, SDI)
  • Sensors or transducers
  • Power supply design
  • Some analog electrical design
  • Strong working knowledge of Signal Integrity and Power Integrity
  • Strong working knowledge of best practices for PCB layout and construction
  • Experience in taking designs through manufacturing
  • Ability to perform simple mechanical assembly for quick prototypes
  • Experience with bring-up, debug, and validation of digital designs
  • Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
  • Prefer:
  • Understanding of optics/sensor/image pipeline & how camera fits into system architecture
  • Team player with excellent conversational & written communication, negotiation & presentation skills
  • Ability to quickly pick up and own new concepts and to contribute with innovative solutions
  • Good judgment and understanding of system-level impact of design choices
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Thorough, focused, methodical, with good documentation habits
  • Demonstrates best-practice design methodologies to achieve high performance designs
  • Consistent track record of developing electronics throughout product cycle: from Requirements negotiation, to Architecture definition, Design, Production, and Support

Description

Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, firmware, driver, and other software teams in order to define prototype hardware to evaluate new technologies and features. • Propose, negotiate, and design EE solutions to achieve functional and performance objectives • Work independently and lead deliverables to align with dynamic project goals • Design & schematic capture of digital and some analog electrical circuits and systems • Lead and review PCB layout • Build proof-of-concept and initial prototype hardware • Create and execute plans to bring-up & validate designs for function and performance • Debug and support prototype designs • Thoroughly document and support each of above steps from concept to architecture, through manufacturing and use

Education & Experience

• MSEE with 7+ years of industry experience, or BSEE with 10+ years of industry experience
