Description

This position is responsible for providing a central resource to building occupant groups for environmental, health and safety support at Apple Austin sites. Key responsibility for managing physical safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to contractor safety management, design reviews, accident investigation, equipment safety reviews and collaboration with R&D, PPE review and management, collaboration on lab specific safety training development and emergency response. This position reports to the EHS Manager - Austin. - Provide or arrange for all EHS services for the facility, including but not limited to: - Training - Personal protective equipment - Hazard assessments - Incident investigations - Workplace safety inspections - Emergency response, including periodic after-hours on-call coverage - Electrical safety - Confined space safety - Hazardous energy control safety - Powered industrial trucks safety - Hot work safety - Develop and implement written environmental, health & safety programs, tools, and materials for the facility - Maintain positive relationships with EHS regulatory agencies for the facility, manage permits, regulatory inspections, and incident reporting - Partner with various departments, including Hardware Engineering, Facilities, Project Management, Human Resources, Security, and Wellness - Support Corporate EHS initiatives, including EHS metrics reporting and audits - Willingness to be on a 24 hour emergency on-call rotation Apple values - Be dependable and reliable – follow-up quickly and consistently. - Demonstrate a positive and approachable demeanor. - Actively practice teamwork, working within the organization and throughout other parts of the company to achieve results. - Take initiative and challenge the status quo. - Deliver more than the customer expects. - Ability to deal with ambiguity. - Drive for results.

Education & Experience

BA or BS program in a relevant EHS discipline. Relevant technical certification (CSP) preferred.
