Apple’s Technology Development Group is seeking an innovative Researcher or Audio Engineer with a passion and fundamental background in spatial audio technologies. Are you interested in developing real-time systems for next generation hardware and software products? You will work closely with the acoustic design, audio software, product design, and other teams to guide the future of Apple’s audio technology and experience across our products.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of spatial audio/acoustics (wave physics, perception)
  • Spatial audio processing and perception: Binaural and Ambisonics / Spherical Harmonics
  • Strong signal processing skills
  • Excellent C/C++ coding skills
  • Excellent MATLAB skills
  • Experience with C++ multi-threading real-time environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of advanced audio production tools and workflows
  • Experience with room acoustics measurements and simulations
  • Experience with audio DSP programming
  • Profiling and optimizing high-performance code
  • Swift / Objective-C / Python
  • DAWs (Logic, ProTools, REAPER, etc.)

Description

We are a special projects group within Apple charged with research and development of new product categories and core technologies. We are a fast-paced audio experience and software prototyping group that researches, designs, and develops next-generation audio technology.

Education & Experience

MS or PhD - Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
