You’ll utilize your hands-on experience in Chip level and IP level ESD analysis to develop/define & refine the methodologies and flows for gate-level, as well as transistor level designs. The areas will include but not limited to ESD Analysis covering optimal placement of clamps cells to handle Electrostatic discharge and ensure current density limits are met during an ESD event.

Key Qualifications

  • Typically requires 5+ years of experience in ESD field in the following areas:
  • Experience in implementation of ESD analysis flows using one or more tools such as PathFinder (RedHawk/Totem), Voltus and PERC.
  • Sound knowledge of ESD principles, models, rules, clamp characteristics and data preparation for such
  • Good data mining skills to generate summary reports for ESD review
  • Understanding of LEF/DEF/GDS/LIB/Technology file and other industry-standard data formats relevant to ESD
  • Ability to collaborate with tool vendors to drive new feature development and interactive debug
  • Strong software and scripting skills for flow integration & automation. Experience in one or more common scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, Python
  • Deep understanding of electro migration (EM) analysis, in general and as relevant for ESD
  • Knowledge of power distribution network on-die, package, and board/system level
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to work independent and collaborate
  • Knowledge of the following is a plus: extraction, static timing analysis, circuit design, ESD clamp circuit structure and Latch-up, power grid design, place and route, DRC, LVS


Supporting ESD analysis, revamping/rewriting and streamlining the ESD flow as well as assume ownership of entire flow Closely work with various design groups (Physical-design/integration, Circuit-design/Power/ESD/Technology) on their ESD requirements for various post layout flows Partner with vendors/foundries for tool qualification and debug Support and debug of ESD analysis flows for multiple design teams worldwide
