Play a leading role in shaping the way in which people interact with technology. The Siri Experience team is building new Siri products and features that ship to hundreds of millions of customers around the world, across consumer products like Apple Watch, CarPlay and HomePod. As a state-of-the-art AI system, Siri comprises multiple machine-learned models, from speech recognition to decision making. We're looking for someone with experience shipping and updating machine-learned products to help define how we measure quality. As an ML technical product manager, you will be managing collaborative efforts between ML modeling teams, quality engineering, analytics, and even advanced development. As such, you should have a consistent track record of successfully leading large, highly complex, cross-functional programs, especially those involving machine learning. Furthermore, you should not only have an eye for product and design but also be willing to roll up your sleeves and get into the technical weeds with both engineers and scientists alike. You should be willing to wear any hat necessary to get the job done and be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Because the work you will be doing will have an immediate impact on the Siri product, you should have a passion for driving the highest quality user experience for our customers and for delivering amazing new features to the world.

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years in a product and/or program role leading cross-functional teams in product development
  • 4+ years in a product and/or program role involving machine-learned components or features
  • Experience and deep understanding of ML lifecycle management; i.e., evaluating, deploying, monitoring, debugging and updating ML models
  • Experience managing large, highly complex projects involving multiple partner teams
  • Ability to drive negotiations on quality trade-offs between multiple teams
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal, to all levels of an organization
  • Innate drive to improve how things work, strong technical skills with an eye for design and user experience
  • Insatiable curiosity, not afraid to ask questions and dig deep into technical areas
  • Ability to, directly and indirectly, lead large teams for success
  • Prior experience working on speech and natural language products is a major plus
  • Prior experience working on quality engineering, test, and/or analytics is a major plus

Description

- Define end-to-end quality roadmap, backlog prioritization and grooming, planning, and execution of a complex system of interconnected ML models - Collaborating closely with ML modeling teams, engineering, analytics, and other partners to improve the ML model deployment process as well as quality gates - Drive the development of an evaluation score of Siri behavior, representative of user experience, and actionable analysis of score drivers - Lead all aspects of your projects including specifications, scope, requirements, timelines, and resource allocation - Analyze metrics to measure ML performance and use this data to drive decisions - Communicate project status to leads and executives, present in executive reviews and coordinate product demos - Build strong relationships within Siri and facilitate communication between cross-divisional groups

Education & Experience

BS/MS/Ph.D. in a computer science-related discipline. Coursework on probability/statistics/machine learning is a major plus
