We are actively seeking enthusiastic interns who can work full-time for a minimum of 12-weeks either for our January 2019 session or Summer 2019.

Key Qualifications

  • Proficiency with C/C++
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Ruby
  • Experience with UNIX and/or the OS X command line
  • Have taken an Operating Systems or Systems Development course in college
  • Experience with compiler development is a plus
  • Experience with Embedded Systems
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Description

Core OS is seeking motivated, bright, and enthusiastic interns to contribute to the development of embedded software solutions, technologies, design, system-level trouble shooting, and software development. - The Embedded Storage group is looking for a summer intern to work on NAND Flash firmware in iOS products. - The Platform Kernel team is looking for OS experience and kernel projects to make further improvements to xnu. - The Kernel Performance team is looking for an extraordinary intern to work on high performance kernel technologies. - The Automation team develops automated tests and infrastructure to verify functionality of various core operating system technologies and to bring together the failure state of corner case user scenarios. - The Platform Security Cryptographic Services team works on improving performance, security, maintainability, and standards compliance of the trust evaluation code for both iOS and OS X.

Education & Experience

BS/MS/PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Design, or related fields. You are additionally required to return to school after the internship to continue education or an internship needs to be required for graduation from your school. You also qualify if accepted into a graduate program after graduation.
